It doesn’t matter how old or young that you are, practicing good skin care habits will pay off. While some people neglect to make any effort to have fantastic skin, others know the importance of taking the right steps to have a glowing complexion.
Even though it may seem monotonous to engage in a daily skincare routine, it’s something which only takes a few minutes a day in reality, and has a huge payoff. Here are five things that you should be doing for your skin every single day.
Washing It
Going to bed with makeup and dirt on your face every night is one of the worst things that you can do for your skin long term. Not only will it clog your pores and cause breakouts, but it will also give your skin a dull appearance and increase the signs of aging.
Always wash your face before your bedtime and also in the morning before applying skin care products. This will ensure that you end the day and start the day with a clean slate.
Moisturizing It
Your skin has natural oils in it, however, when you wash it, your skin is stripped of most of these and needs an extra burst of moisturization. This will avoid your skin creating excess oil in order to compensate for the lack of oils which can then lead to acne.
Make sure that you are using a quality moisturizer which is full of quality ingredients. Otherwise, you aren’t doing your skin any favors by using low-quality products.
Using a Serum
Using a serum in addition to a moisturizer will give your skin an extra boost that it needs in order to stay radiant and youthful. Applying this with your moisturizer after every time that you wash it will ensure that your skin gets what it needs to regenerate skills and have a smoother overall appearance.
There are a variety of serums on the market ranging from lower prices all the way up to hundreds of dollars. However, you don’t have to spend all of your paycheck in order to find a good product which delivers results.
Applying Sunscreen
Some people are under the impression that sunscreen should only be applied on sunny days. However, the sun can do just as much damage on cloudy days due to the harmful rays which you can’t necessarily see.
Always make sure to apply at least 20 SPF every day to avoid premature wrinkles. The nice thing about sunscreen is that you can often find it in makeup. Check your tinted moisturizer or foundation to see if it comes with SPF already in it.
