Day-1:
You visit Hanoi and see the city. The city offers a spectacular view of the modern buildings and traditional culture. The city also offers the best culinary delights, and you can enjoy shopping on the first day, as you will not be ready for an adventurous sight seeing on the day of arrival.
Day-2:
This day can be reserved for viewing Tam Coc and Hoa Lu. Both are located at the Ninh Binh province. Reaching Tam Coc by road through 3-4 hours drive you can then take a boat ride to view the Hang Ba, Hang Ca, and the Hang Hai caves. Nature’s wonders in the form of stalactites and stalagmites are found in these caves.
Hoa Lu is the old 10th Century capital of Vietnam, and this place is famous for the ancient temples and monuments. From Tam Coc it’s a 2 hours boat ride to Hoa Lu. Kings Dinh and Le temples are a must visit there. You may stay there or come back to Hanoi for better connectivity the next day.
Day-3:
Getting back to Hanoi you can go for the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the one pillar pagoda, the presidential palace, and temple of Literature. Shopping can be accompanied with this. At afternoon you can start for the Halong city. It’s again a -5 hours drive, and the route is through the Red River Delta. You can collect some refreshments from the Sao Do town on the way.
Day-4:
Cruising through the Halong Bay, one of the most visited spots of the world for it’s exceptional natural beauty and fabulous hilly islands is a bliss. This is a natural heritage world site. Stone islands, caves, limestone formations and beautiful creations of the nature is what makes the cruise through the Halong bay so special. You may take rest at Halong city, or get back to Hanoi.
Day-5:
Day 5 is for relaxation and ample shopping. You may also enjoy the puppet show at Hanoi this day, and then finally return.
