Banaras Hindu College, Commonly abbreviated as BHU held entrance exam for sorting out the students who will be admitted to its Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses. UET or Under Graduate Entrance Test and PET or Post Graduate Entrance Test were the names of exams conducted by BHU for admissions. Seats in all the courses present in Faculty and Affiliated colleges were offered through Entrance Exam for which applications began on 2nd February 2017. (For both UET and PET). Last date to apply for entrance exams UET and PET was 10th March 2017. Admit Card for both UET and PET was made available to students on 24th April 2017. Entrance exam for UG courses were conducted from 30th April 2017 to 31st May 2017 for different courses and entrance exam for PG courses were conducted from 16th May 2017 to 30th May 2017. The declaration of result process was started from 9th June 2017 onwards. Soon after results for all the courses were declared, the counseling schedule was announced for both UG and PG courses.
Counseling Process for UET will take place between 4th July 2017 and 19th July 2017 whereas the counseling process for PET will take place between 4th July 2017 to 20th July 2017. The counseling process will be conducted by BHU only and will strictly be according to the schedule and the merit list as announced by BHU. BHU has issued counseling call letters to all the students who have qualified the exams and are eligible for counseling for both UET and PET. The counseling letters issued are on the online portal of the students who have qualified. The selected students were also informed via SMS and email which were sent on the phone number and email id that was provided by them. The students called for counseling each course are approximately four times the number of seats available in the course. Official Documents of selected candidates will be verified by the Faculty In-Charge itself before finally approving the admission of the candidate. All the candidates are suggested to take originals and at least two self-attested copies of the documents required at the time of BHU counseling 2017.
Documents which will be required at the time of counseling are Mark sheets and Certificates of class 10th and 12th, Last valid transfer certificate and migration certificate, Category certificates for the candidates who belong to SC/ST/OBC categories, medical certificate for those who have applied under Physically Handicapped quota, Sports Certificates for those who have applied under sports quota and Certificates and Mark sheets of Graduation (All years/semesters and final) for students of PET.
Counseling Procedure:
The students who have received call letters for counseling will have to login into their portals using their User ID and password and then they will have to fill the online preference form in which they will have to number the choices in location, type of seat, course and location according to their preference. Next step will be to attend the offline counseling that will be held according to merit and category. The students will then be allotted seats depending on their preference and the seats available at their rank and in their category. The students will then have to get their documents verified after which they will have pay the admission fee through Offline or Online mode. The students submitting fee through offline mode will not have to provide any deposit proof but the students paying fee through offline mode will have to present the deposit proof to the admission officer at the venue allotted. Admission will be cancelled for the students who will not pay the fee within allotted time.
